Fibro Flare

So today began with the realization that I am in the middle of a Fibro flare.  Yesterday, we had a wonderful Saturday visiting with some sweet friends of ours. But it was a long day, and apparently my Fibromyalgia said…NO WAY.  I woke up in so much pain… in my neck, shoulders, hips, knees & feet. The first order of the day was to take my Serrapeptase, a natural enzyme that I have found helps to manage my pain. I am relying solely on natural medications for my management of this chronic fatigue and pain that I deal with every day, at least for the time being.

The second step was to take a 30 minute long soak in a warm tub with my lavendar scented epsom salts.  This works wonders, but the results only last for an hour or so and then I am back to square one.  So the remainder of my day has been spent resting and managing my 8 and 2 year old.  I refuse to let Fibromyalgia steal away my special times spent with friends. It is worth a flare up to me, just to get to be with the people who mean the most to me, in my life.  How do you deal with a sudden flare up of your Fibro?

On the days I am flaring, I find myself wishing I had shorter, more manageable hair. But Long hair is so much a part of me, so I could never cut it.  I am struggling to fix my hair most days…it is very painful.  I am known as the ponytail girl.  I have reverted to the good old pony on most days, at least it is easy and low maintenance. Does Fibro affect your hairstyle? For now, I will just be thankful that I have hair at all! =)
