Fibromyalgia Fatigue ~ A Wild Animal

Be Gentle With Yourself You Are Doing The Best you Can

Be gentle with yourself, you are doing the best you can.

I recently saw a quote that said “Be gentle with yourself, you are doing the best you can.” I need those words. Especially on days like today.

The sun is shining and the birds are singing their beautiful little songs. The world is lovely today, but I am not well.

It is days like today when I feel the tug on my heart to go out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine and play with my children. But, sadly I am not able. It is times like this when discouragement can easily set in.

Fibromyalgia at best is a very difficult animal to deal with

Fibromyalgia at its best is a very difficult animal to deal with.

When I say animal, that is just what it is. It has a mind of its own. It can knock me down faster than a running bull.  I woke up this morning, feeling very much exhausted and as if I had never gone to bed. It is a beautiful day, but the fatigue I am feeling is mind boggling. I feel as if I must rest. There is no helping these dead weights I have for arms today. There is no relief for the desperate call to rest.

So, I do what I must. I teach the children. I do the laundry. I cook the meals. I try to smile. But I am longing, longing, longing for  a nap, for that moment when I can lie down and rest my weary body.  I moment in my day when I can just breathe, which at times it is hard to muster the energy to do even that. So, I do what I can and I let God take care of the rest.

What do you do to make it through the fatigue that is stronger than a brick wall?

Fibro fatigue is strong, but I am determined to be stronger.

Until next time, just keep smiling and do the best you can do, that is enough.

Blessings,

Valerie

i just found you on Pinterest. I also struggle with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I can’t imagine having lyme disease on top of that! I really like that quote. I need to print it and out it somewhere where I can see it every day. Thanks for sharing.
