Autumn Paper Straw Wreath DIY Project

Hello Dear Friends! I am sorry I have been so absent lately. I have been busily catching up around here since our late September beach get away. October is proving to be just as busy as September.
I have made some big improvements with my health and have recently gone both dairy and gluten free! (As prescribed by my doctor.) Just those changes alone, have improved my health tremendously! I am so grateful.

I enjoyed making the pretty fall wreath above with my son this week. He loves autumn themed projects and this wreath fit the bill perfectly. I first saw the idea on Pinterest and visited the lovely Amanda at her wonderful blog, Dwelling In Happiness .  You can visit with her there for her wonderful tutorial for making a paper straw wreath. My wreath is less full than Amanda’s, since I was just using up a surplus of black and white paper straws left over from my daughter’s recent wedding. Still, I think it turned out a really lovely project for my nine year old! We didn’t paint our leaves gold, but left them the bright fall colors, since we were using black and white as our palette and not the cute birch tree straws like Amanda used.  All in all I spent about $2.00 for this autumn prettiness. I was so pleased with the end result.

My sweet daughter gave me this pretty glass pumpkin last fall and it is now in its new home on my piano. =)
Have a great evening!
Blessings and Sunshine,

  1. I LOVE how this turned out, Valerie!! I think I even like the less-full look of yours better! Thank you SO much for the sweet words and for mentioning me, I'm so glad it was a great project for you and your daughter! Projects are always more fun with kid help. 🙂 Pinning and sharing! 🙂

  2. If witches looked like that, they'd be welcome to come to my house any time and I'd give him a dog cookie. :-)) SO CUTE!
