January Joys & New Year’s Promises

Hello sweet friends,
January just keeps chugging along and life keeps me busier than ever. I made a small promise to myself and my family this brand new year to spend much less time on the Internet and much more time with my precious ones. There is so much online that can rob one of their precious time. So, while I plan to continue with my little blog here…it will be at a leisurely pace. I want this to be a place where I can share everyday happenings in my little world, crafts, recipes and my beloved art. I want it to continue to be a place of encouragement and an uplifting place to visit. A place to share warm memories and new experiences. I hope you will bear with me as I seek to find more of that perfect balance in my life. I will be here…in my cozy little corner, a friend & fellow traveler on this journey called life. Thank you to each one of you who has graciously made the time to follow my little blog here. It means so much to me. I treasure each one of your friendships. Blessings to you all!

What I am Enjoying:

A few years ago, when Pinterest was still in its baby stages, my sweet sister made me this rustic pine cone garland. She painted it in shades of silver, blue & yellow. I love how the colors meld into cold January days…so that I can enjoy it a little longer, after all the Christmas rush is over.
A long time ago when I was a sweet 16. My dear husband gave me this beautiful, primitive angel for Christmas. It has had a special place in my heart and home since then. =)
What I am creating:

This sweet little crocheted hat pattern, is a copycat of a pretty little Anthropology hat. My daughter just loves it and calls it her ice cream hat. It does remind me of Neapolitan ice cream. 😉 I found the pattern for this on Pinterest! You can find it here at this lady’s wonderful blog:
Anthropology Copycat Hat @ I design Adventures

She reminds me of a little Strawberry Shortcake doll. =)

This pretty little pincushion was part of my oldest daughter’s Christmas gift. I crocheted it using this lovely little pattern I found on Pinterest: Pretty Little Pincushion at the talented Molly Makes Blog

This little guy has been named “Chilly.” I crocheted him for my oldest son who loves penguins. I found this fantastic little pattern here: Penguin Pet Pattern at Crochet Goods Blog I think he turned out really cute.

These wonderful beanies made great Christmas gifts for the special guys in my life.

This pretty little nautical scarf and hat set belong to my youngest son. I love the blue and green blocking.

These little no sew crochet towel toppers are awesome! I have made oodles of these and they make wonderful gifts. There is a crocheted loop under the ruffle that you can thread a towel through. When the towel gets dirty, you just pull it out and thread another through  the loop. You can find the pattern for one version of this topper here:Now Sew Towel Topper
What I Wish For You…
A sunny week filled with happy days. Keep encouraged…until next time dear friends…
Blessings Always,

It is so easy to get on the internet and lose track of time. I am trying to watch my time too. Your daughter is beautiful in her little ice cream hat. The things you've made are beautiful.
