Essiac Tea and My Lyme Disease Treatment Protocol

Essiac Tea for Lyme Treatments

Beginning A New Lyme Protocol

So, I am in the middle of week two of my second protocol for Lyme treatments. It has been touch and go because I came down with a terrible kidney infection last week and am just now getting back to the regular protocol.

Protocol “D” is all about detoxing the body. It is the in between protocol where antibiotics are not used. It lasts between 1 and 2 months. Heavy Metals and other toxins interfere with the body’s ability to fight the Borrelia. So Detoxification is very important.

My doctor also recommended I use PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency) treatments. But, since I live an hour away from his office this is not an option for me right now, not to mention it is $25 for a 20 minute session and they like for you to come up to 5 times a week! That’s a LOT of money just to lay on a mat to enhance and strengthen your immune system. Maybe next go round. We’ll see.

The use of an infrared sauna is also advised, which I do not have access to at the moment. So for now, I am doing the other bits of the protocol without the PEMF or sauna.

The number one enemy of mine in this protocol is Flucanozole (200mg). It is murder. I take this little number at breakfast and by mid-morning my mind is a zoo. I feel like a drunken sailor.

Remember that little song…”What do you do with a drunken sailor early in the morning,” I think it mentions throwing him in the lock up until he’s sober somewhere in the middle of the song. Yeah, that’s what they should probably do with me after I take Flucanozole.

Apparently, I have a lot of yeast and Lyme die off from this stuff. I guess that is a good sign.

detox with des bio for Lyme

Des Bio Comprehensive Detox

Along with continuing all of my supplements from Protocol “A”, I am adding Des Bios Comprehensive Detox Kit. Can I just add this stuff is expensive! You have to obtain it from a physician and it runs about $90 a pop and that is a deal.

For three days of the week, I take 12 drops each (twice a day) of Cerebromax, Spinalmax and Matrix Support and then days 4-7 I take 12 drops each of detox tinctures I. II. & III.

This stuff says detox. Let’s just say it “means” DETOX. Along with these lovely droppers full of health. I am doing chelation with EDTA every other day. You have to be careful with this stuff as it draws out needed vitamins and minerals as well as heavy metals.

So a maximum strength mulitvitamin is in my near future. I am also taking green powder every morning in the form of a smoothie. Just say “DOUBLE DETOX” why don’t we! I’m hoping this saves me from some major herxing (a.k.a healing crisis) when I start protocol “B” which is a very strong round of treatment at the latter end of July.

I am supposed to be upping the supplements I began in Protocol “A”, but my body just cannot handle any more right now. So I am keepin’ on keepin’ on with what I was doing before.
One thing I have added recently is Essiac Tea. You can read a little more about the Benefits of Essiac Tea by clicking on this link. It is a wonderful detoxification agent, even said to cure cancers!
Essentially to me it is like drinking DIRT, plain and simple. If you have ever had a mouthful of sand or earth from an unfortunate fall, that is what Essiac tastes like. YUCK with a capital “Y.”
But, it’s benefit list is long.So in the long run, I hope it will prove worth it for me! You have to brew it carefully and it has to steep for 12 hours. It has to be stored in the refrigerator and when it cools the herbs just settle in the bottom like sediment in a pond. It literally smells like wet dirt with grass clippings mixed in for good measure.

The grit of Essiac. It literally looks and smells like dirt.

Doesn’t this look yummy. NOT!

I would highly recommend it though, to anyone who is fighting cancer or chronic illness. It does give me energy and I feel it does its “job” with detoxification.

I am optimistic that the longer I keep at this treatment for my Late Stage Lyme Disease the better I will feel. I just have to keep at it and keep positive.

My fatigue has been off the charts this past week. But, I did push myself recently with hosting a graduation party and a family vacation. Sometimes pushing yourself is worth the price of a severe flare.

Good memories, family and friends after all are what make life worth while.

Blessings until next time.

Valerie, I am so sorry you are dealing with this! Ticks are bad news. And tickborne illnesses are awful! I think of you often. You are such a wonderful girl — a great mom and wife, beautiful, kind, smart. I hope the essiac tea helps. I had heard of it but honestly did not really know what it was. I will have to read more about it. Thank you for sharing your journey. Love you! Lynn

    Dear Lynn,
You are so sweet to write those lovely things about me. I really appreciate your friendship and care. I think the same about you! I am "getting there" with this tick business. I would have never dreamed it would entail this much and be so difficult. Essiac's benefits are wonderful. If you ever want to read more about the lady who discovered it look up Rene Caisse. Her last name was spelled backwards to name the tea! She was a wonderful lady. I Love you and hope your days are filled with sunshine and all that is good and wonderful. Hugs, Val
